Greetings,
welcome to the Digitally Free Families forum. Today the quality of our lives and our civil rights depends quite heavily on which software is used around us and how. This forum is open to all parents and citizens who wish to make sure that the computers in their home, but also those in all public offices, are used in their best interest and to share their experiences in this field.
Relevant topics in this forum include, for example:
- discussing what is the best way and moment to let children start using computers at home
- how to recognize when sharing files of any kind (music, computer programs, whatever) is legal and when it isn't (yes, there are a lot of songs and software which is perfectly legal to share)
- how to make sure that the current laws on digital copyright, which already cost you a lot of money and may prevent your children from getting a good job, are fixed or at least don't get even worst that they are today
- how to find out which of the Public websites paid with your money cost too much or are not accessible to all citizens, and what to do in such cases
- signal cases of bad reporting (that is biased or misinformed articles) on Information and Communication Technology in the mainstream press and online portals and learn how to recognize them
- how to find out if the political candidates you are going to vote at any level understand the Digital Dangers of this age and are actually able to fight them in your best interest
- any other issue covered in the Family Guide to Digital Freedom which directly impacts your civil rights, from e-voting to Net Neutrality, online censorship or dealing with e-waste
Please do not hesitate to ask in this forum any question you may have on these issues, or to share any direct experience in these fields. All you need to do in order to participate is to get a Digifreedom account.
I look forward to hear from you in this forum!
Best Regards,
Marco Fioretti
