Greetings,
welcome to the Digitally Free Schools forum. This forum is open to all students, parents, teachers and other educators who wish to discuss how to find or create Digitally Free Schools and to share their experiences in this field.
Relevant topics in this forum include, for example:
- discussing what is the best way and moment to use computer in the classroom or for school work
- how to find out if the computer-related education given in your children's school is the best one for them, or if creates any problem, from inducing illegal behaviors to teaching notions which become immediately obsolete or forcing families to spend much more money than it would be actually necessary
- how to act when you do find out that in your children schools there are problems like the ones described above
- signalling schools of every level which should be listed in the Digitally Free School Database
- share any other good experience and best practices in your children's school: distribution and training of Free (as in Freedom) Software, balanced teaching and policies about file-sharing and other copyright-related topics...
- any other issue covered in the Family Guide to Digital Freedom on which the policies of your children's school may be for them a good or bad example: from restricting Internet access to dealing with e-waste
Please do not hesitate to ask in this forum any question you may have on these issues, or to share any direct experience in these fields. All you need to do in order to participate is to get a Digifreedom account.
I look forward to hear from you in this forum!
Best Regards,
Marco Fioretti
